WELCOME TO A WORLD RUN BY
Today is the day! The final steps for this project is upon us! (well me I guess) So earlier this week I framed the batik paintings onto some cardboard that I cut out to be just a bit bigger than the frames opening so I could attach them to the frames and not have to worry about them falling through 👍 I just wrapped each piece around the cardboard and secured it on the back with some duck tape. Gotta love duck tape. I originally used masking tape, but that fell off completely. So then I proceeded to hot glue the ever living being of those boards to the frames. It was a challenge though. The two hot glue guns at school kept almost clogging up or not being hot enough. I'm not entirely sure what was going on, but I really wish that I brought in my hot glue gun instead of having to use the school's. But I had to finished these today so I trudged along while having to constantly switch back and forth between the two and occasionally wait sometimes for them both to heat up. But I got them all done! I'll be posting final shots tomorrow, but here is a small sneak peak of what the frames look like! See ya then! 😄

Construction for Pascal is complete! His body now has a head and he also has eyeballs!
. I'm a bit worried that his head may fall off at some point, but who knows. I have it propped up with more Chromebook foam and damp paper towels to help it stay up while it dries.
So in my Accelerated Art class, we have finally started to think about our concentration projects for the semester. Each of us have talked with our teacher for the past few weeks and I have decided to make props in light of my recent obsession (to say the least) with making cosplay props and such.
. So my plan is to create two Keyblades from the video game Kingdom Hearts, specifically Kingdom Hearts 3 as there is a Tangled level (that I really want to play in) and a Tangled inspired Keyblade called the Ever After Keyblade which is such a cute name. Then I also plan on making the classic Kingdom Keyblade that Sora carries the majority of the time . I think these are going to be so much fun to make but also a challenge, so I've got a lot of planning to do. Wish me luck and come back to see the progress! So we have started a new project in my ceramics class. We are supposed to mash up an object from nature and a manmade object and after much deliberation (and a couple pages from my sketchbook) I have decided to make a chameleon tape measure! . (Which is honestly just an excuse to make Pascal out of clay FINALLY!)
It's time to paint! FINALLY! This project honestly has been going on for too long. Yes some of that is my fault because I got side tracked and then uninterested/unmotivated. But now my grade is at risk and I'm not about that life. So it's time to hunker down on these bad boys. So after painting each of the 4 frames I am done for the day because: A) I cannot go any further while the frames are wet AND B) Class was over lol I don't feel like I was super productive today, but I at least didn't take a step backwards. But I do also feel like the saying "Another day, another nickel" fits well for today.
See ya next time! 💜 They're finally done!!! I got them back today from being fired for the last time. They're not perfect, some of the black spots are still visible but there's nothing I can do about it now. I'm still really happy with how they turned out though. They were a pain and a blast to make and took me on a roller coaster of emotions too.
So my teacher was able to reattach the bit that broke off of the Imperial Sovereign Tankard but we have another problem. Yay, another issue... So basically what happened was someone else's work got a bunch of black spots on my tankards... and I didn't get any pictures of the spots because I was too worried about trying to get rid of them or figuring out a way to cover them up. He said just to paint over them with underglaze again. So that's just what I did, and now I'm hoping for the best. I also then painted the final glaze over the tankards, but I didn't take any pictures because I was rushing to get it done before class ended and Thanksgiving break started. Plus they just looked like the tankards themselves, but white lol
I had an accident... The little curly bit on the Imperial Sovereign Tankard broke off. I was painting the last few coats and I hit the handle on the table and it broke off :( My teacher said he would try and fix it, so I hope he can. But either way, here are the tankards with all of the underglaze done. And now it's time for another round of firing!!!
