I'm super happy with this new color. My room has been this hot pink color since we moved here back when I was four years old. . I actually chose the hot pink color then, and I'd say I did a good job for four. . Though this was a much needed change (even though I'm going to be moving to college soon). But I still have to live in this room for a few more months and my parents were okay with it. . I put a before and after picture below (thanks to my mom). Getting an after pictured wouldn't have been hard, but a before picture was past that point so I'm thankful my mom took one even before we began. Stay safe everyone <3
So being sorta stuck in my room for a few months now, and me just being me, I asked my parents if I could paint my room and they said YES! . My mom works at a home building place and so we borrowed a paint swatch library. It had SO many colors to choose from and honestly took me a few days to figure it out. I ended up narrowing it down to two colors, but I'm still not sure which one to go with. . I think we're going to go to Lowe's to get some samples of each so I can paint them both on my wall and decide after that since paint can look different on the wall and dry versus the swatch. . So today just consisted of getting everything off of my walls, moving small furniture and things out of my room, moving my bigger furniture to the middle of my room, and taping off the trim. . My dad had a little gadget to help with that and it was actually really fun for my sister and I to use. Though it as still tome consuming. Also sorry for the bad (almost nonexistent) photos. We only had this weekend to do this project and I was very in the zone and in the moment to get things done that I didn't think to stop and take photos during the process.
. Stay safe everyone <3 This painting has actually been complete for almost 4 years now. I painted it during or before my freshman year, or sometime around then. . It has just been sitting in my house since I never knew where to hang it or what to do with it. I even had some command velcro strips on the back, though I never used them. . This painting was a huge leap for me when it came to painting. Previously, I had only painted using 'flat' colors as if I was coloring with crayons. I would just paint a solid color in the area it went and then outlined the whole painting with a black marker at the end. I had never mixed colors to create lights and shadows until this painting. . Some of those mixings are not great, but I am still proud of what I was able to accomplish. Even though not every transition is smooth, the illusion of form and depth still shines through. I think that is something to be proud of. EDIT: I actually ended up giving this painting as a gift to my band director as a parting gift since I graduated. I hope she really enjoys it as she is an avid Mickey Mouse and Disney fan (we don't speak of Minnie. She does not exist.)
. Stay safe everyone! <3 So I went out and got some fabric yesterday for my Elizabeth Swann POTC 2 cosplay and some of that fabric was for her shirt
. I then decided to make the shirt today using a pattern from Simplicity (S4923) with a few tweaks to better fit Elizabeth's shirt (I am also going to use this pattern to make the vest as well and maybe the pants if I can't find any) . I also got some boots in the mail that I purchased from eBay that I am going to add a bit to to better replicate her boots. . Once again I'll be posting more updates and progress on my Instagram @bricksymakes so go and follow me there so see more! I got some items in the mail today for my Elizabeth Swann cosplay! . I got them online since they obviously don't sell these in stores anymore, but they are really great and perfect for the price! . I got Jack's compass and a sword. I am going to repaint the pommel, knuckle guard, and cross guard as well as add some details to the grip as it doesn't match Elizabeth's sword exactly. But it was the best I could find while not making my wallet sad lol . I'll be posting updates and progress on my Instagram @bricksymakes so go and follow me there so see more! Stay safe everyone <3
Just wanted to share a drawing I did of Flynn Rider recently. . I hope you enjoy! Stay safe everyone <3
But anyways, I just wanted to share another assignment from my art class. . This one isn't very interesting to me, but I'm proud of it so I thought I'd share . We were tasked to participate in a challenge where (as the title suggests) you have to draw/design 1 letter from the alphabet in 16 different ways/styles, and because I'm me and had Disney on the brain (and couldn't shake it) I chose the letter D. . So yeah, that's pretty much it. I was a fun little thing to do and I like most of the ones I did (there are like 2/3 that I don't really like that much lol) Stay safe everyone <3
